✧ why "Loophole"? ✧

I have gotten this question a lot already and so I assume the people want to know!

I chose the name for my practice because I see astrology as a type of loophole to help us better understand & forgive ourselves and those we are in relationship with. Learning about both natal placements and ongoing transits has helped me breathe many sighs of relief when I've been able to connect them to happenings in my life & psyche.

I also see astrology as a loophole out of understanding time as linear. I like to think of time as a spiral (thank you dear friend Elizabeth for introducing me to this thought that exploded my world years ago, I love you). Astrology is the literal mapping of this phenomenon! It shows the repeating patterns and cycles of the celestial bodies and how they correlate to life here on Earth.

Planets progress around a circular chart in the counter clockwise direction at different rates depending on the speed at which they are hurtling through space, while also apparently progressing in the clockwise direction throughout the course of a day as the Earth spins. As they move, they form angles and relationships to one another that, using the language of astrology, we can interpret to understand and predict events. Patterns of these relationships have been observed and calculated and tracked in correlation to events & phenomena throughout history- thus giving us the knowledge base that is astrology!!

Lastly, the word "loophole" in its etymological history originally referred to an eye-sized cut out in the wall of a fortress. When I read someone's chart, it really feels as though I get to witness a sliver of their soul- I find the loophole and peer inside the fortress from the outside. :-)
